Luis Pastor awarded this year by UGT with the Julián Besteiro Prize for Arts and Letters and his son Pedro will perform at the closing of the commemorative events of the th anniversary of the General Union of Workers which the union began to celebrate on the th. August with an event in Barcelona where he was born in .
The event in Barcelona was the starting point for a year of cultural activities of all kinds that UGT launched from traveling exhibitions conference cycles debates courses theatre cinema music and concerts among others which under the slogan We deliver ! have toured the entire country.
The union also launched a website with content about its history CXB Directory news and data on the events organized throughout and to celebrate this anniversary among many other things.
In addition the union has published various publications posters videos and reports of a historical and informative nature among which several publications stand out one of which about the history of the union in vignettes is illustrated by Gallego y Rey .
UGT a living history
For the Vice Secretary General of UGT Cristina Antoñanzas “ the history of UGT is the history of the labor movement in our country and all the events organized on this anniversary have the purpose of allowing society to see what the union has done throughout their life and feel like participants in an organization with years of history.

“Our strength is the workers and our objective remains the same as years ago the defense of their interests. That will continue to be the path. Prepare proposals to address the current problems of workers find a way to fight for an equitable distribution of wealth improve collective bargaining and ultimately new forms of union action. The goal is to continue being the voice of all workers.
